We accept photos that were taken by Maine-based wedding photographers only.

We print twice a year and have two submission deadlines, though we will accept submissions all year long. Our next deadline is for the January 2016 issue. Please submit your images to us no later than July 27, 2015.

When submitting, please organize your photos into photos that are clearly marked. For featured weddings and engagement shoots, we need to know the location. For floral and cake photos, we need to know the vendor. Low resolution images are fine, high res images are best!

You can submit your images a couple of ways:
• Mail us a flash drive or disk. We love snail mail! Our NEW address is:
            Real Maine Weddings
            P.O. Box 960
            Bangor, ME  04401
            Attn: Melanie Brooks
• Send a Dropbox invitation to editor@realmaineweddings.com

We send out a call for submissions a few times a year. If you would like to receive these emails, please let our editor know by emailing her at editor@realmaineweddings.com and we’ll add you to our list!

Before submitting, we suggest you take a look at our magazine to see what we publish. You can view the most recent digital flipbook. We are always looking for images for the following categories:

Featured Weddings
We feature four Real Maine Weddings in each of our issues. The weddings you submit should be current, not having taken place more than a year ago. We like to publish weddings from all over the state, from Fort Kent to Eliot and everywhere in between. Since our state is so big, we try very hard to not publish weddings at the same venue in back-to-back issues. We have recently published weddings that have been held in Bethel/Newry, Deer Isle, Ogunquit, and Kennebunkport.

We know that couples come in all shapes, sizes, ages, and colors. What people love about our magazine is that it portrays real couples tying the knot in Maine! We love variety! Please be sure to send photos from the entire day—from the preparation to the last dance—and include all of the wonderful details in between.

What do we take into consideration when choosing our features? Location, for one. We will never publish two weddings that take place in the same town in the same issue. The quality of the photos is also a major deciding factor. We also love publishing interesting stories, so if there is something about your couple that is noteworthy, let us know!

Inspiration Shoots
We feature four inspiration shoots in each of our issues. In the January issue we feature seasonal inspiration shoots and publish one from each season. In the July issue we leave the theme up to you and your team! In the past we have featured the following themes: City Chic, Tea Party, Winter Fairy Tale, and Rustic Elegance. You may submit a wedding that you have already photographed or create an inspiration shoot from scratch. Please note that the vendors you partner with must be Maine-based wedding vendors. We love local talent! We also offer special advertising opportunities for the event designer and photographer who take part in a special inspiration shoot.

Destination Pages
Our Destination Pages give our readers a peek into the many communities that make Maine special. We look for wedding images that portray each of the following areas: Aroostook County, Bangor, Bar Harbor, Bethel, Boothbay Harbor, Downeast, Kennebec Valley, the Kennebunks, Lewiston/Auburm, Midcoast, Ogunquit, Portland, Rangeley, and York.

Maine Floral Guide
In this section we share photos of gorgeous floral designs including bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces. The florist must be based in Maine.

Maine Cakes
We've changed this section up a bit to allow for more creativity. In the past we've featured strictly themes. We are now looking to publish a collection of the most beautiful, whimsical, stunning, fun, sophisticated, and jaw-dropping cakes that were created by Maine bakers.

Maine Wedding Trends
We like to showcase trends that are happening across the Pine Tree State, so send us photos of what you’ve been seeing at Maine weddings. We also now publish a Drink Trends section—so send us photos of creative ways couples are serving their special guests.

Editor’s Picks
Our editor and art director collaborate on this section, which features some of the finest wedding photojournalism in the state.
