Bethel Planning Days: Part 1

Last week Trevor and I traveled to Bethel and visited all the locations where our Real Maine Wedding is going to take place. All I can really say is, WOW! Bethel is breathtaking and the most beautiful backdrop for a wedding—or any event for that matter. Along with visiting the wedding venues we were able to pop in and visit some of the vendors as well.

Our first stop when we arrived was Marta's Bakery. My sweet tooth was fully prepared for this planning visit—I couldn't wait to taste Marta's treats. When we pulled up to Marta's shop Amber, from Sweetest Thing Weddings, and Christine and Melanie, from Real Maine Weddings, were awaiting our arrival and enjoying the sunshine. It is such an honor to have these girls at all our planning events. Both Trev and I would be completely lost without their guidance.

Marta's Bakery is phenomenal and Marta is so sweet. We immediately began looking at magazines and photos of cakes Marta had previously designed to get inspired and figure out which style was our favorite. While picking out our top three choices, Marta indulged us all with her delicious cake. We were able to try a couple flavors. They were both so yummy that we decided to use both of them in our cake! Trevor and I look forward to seeing what design is chosen and, more importantly, eating the cake with everyone at our reception. Leftovers? I doubt it.

After filling up on cake we all headed over to Harvest Gold Gallery. Lynda and Bill, owners of this one of a kind handcrafted jewelry store, are fantastically upbeat and a pleasure to spend time with. Even Captain, Lynda and Bill's dog, was there to help Trevor and I navigate through the beautiful store. Bill and Lynda are donating our toasting flutes as well as jewelry for my bridesmaids and me. The toasting flutes Trevor and I picked for voting are awesome. Each set is completely different from the other, but all are amazing. We will be lucky with any pair and look forward to toasting our marriage with them on our wedding day. It's nice to think that the flutes will find a special place at our home where we can use them to toast every anniversary celebration and important future events.

It was fun deciding what my lovely ladies will be wearing with their gorgeous blush bridesmaid dresses. Lynda and Bill hand made every piece of jewelry on display in their store. This not only makes this gift for the girls very personal, but also one of a kind. The bridesmaid jewelry is another element the public will have say on, and it was pretty difficult to pick my three favorites. Everything at Harvest Gold is a work of art and the girls and myself will be lucky to own a one of a kind treasure. Last but not least, Lynda and Bill helped me choose three pieces of jewelry for me to wear when reciting my vows to Trevor. I could picture wearing any of the pieces showcased at their store. Visiting Harvest Gold Gallery was wonderful and we both can't wait to go back.

Our final stop for the day was Nabos! This fun store carries a gift for every person and every occasion. As soon as we walked in I was in awe with the amount of fun and unique items displayed from one end of the store to the other. Amanda, owner of Nabos, is so cool and chic. You can tell her store is a reflection of her unique sense of style and I loved it. Amanda is donating a gift for the welcome basket, which our guests will be receiving upon arriving to Bethel. She had a few items for Trevor and I to choose from and we both thought the engraved rocks glass would be a great memento for everyone to remember our special day. As far as what will be engraved on the glass...that’s a surprise! After picking out the glasses I was able to explore the store a little bit longer and found some perfect gifts I can use in the near future. Trevor even found a pretty awesome golfers shirt too. I 'm sure everyone who attends our wedding will want to make a stop at this store.

Our first day in Bethel couldn't of been better and it was so nice to meet more of the amazing people who are making this wedding possible. As much as we can say it, it just doesn't suffice to how thankful Trevor and I are for everything and everyone involved in this Real Maine Wedding.
