Kimberly and Walter met in 2012 while they were both working at Walgreens. “It all started with high fives in aisle 8 and the rest is history,” Kimberly says.
When it was time for Walter to propose, he took Kimberly out to the same restaurant they visited on their first date. Dinner was followed by a trip to Portland’s Eastern Promenade where the couple had fond memories of watching the fireworks on the Fourth of July. “There, at dusk on the beach, he popped the question!” Kimberly says. “It was absolutely a scene out of a movie!”
The couple, who are both from Maine and live in Biddeford, decided to hold their wedding celebration where Kimberly grew up. Harmony Hill Farm in Warren was the perfect backdrop to their sunflower-filled wedding day.
On the morning of their big day, Kimberly’s mother (the wedding planner) was on top of everything. “It was such a relaxed and stress-free morning leading up to the ceremony,” Kimberly says. “We couldn’t have been more prepared.”
The couple had a sweet ceremony and after, enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and drinks at a cocktail hour. The rest of their night was filled with dinner and dancing. “It was so perfect,” Kimberly says.
In Her Words
We asked the bride more about the big day. Here’s what Kimberly said…
I didn’t realize…how fast the day would go by! It was over in the blink of an eye but it couldn’t have been more perfect.
One of my favorite moments was…walking down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. We were just so smitten.
I’m glad that…I had such great support from all of our family and friends. It really took all of us to make the day so perfect.
I really liked…that we could celebrate our big day at a place so dear to my heart. I could have never dreamed of a more beautiful place to get married than my own back yard!
My advice to other couples is
…not to sweat the small stuff. No matter how the day turns out, it is really all about celebrating the love the two of you have for each other.
