Amy and Chris met while working at the same hospital in Pennsylvania. “Being in a small community our paths kept crossing,” Amy says. “Before long we started dating.”

Chris proposed to Amy at a family New Year’s Eve party. The night was filled of fun, food, and games and the group decided to play Pictionary. Chris and his brother were opponents, and Amy decided to film the intense competition. Before she knew it Chris drew a ring on the board with the blanks _ _ _ _ _   _ _? There was a pause, and Chris’s dad threw him the ring. In a jiffy Chris was down on one knee asking Amy to marry him. Amy dropped the video camera and tears filled the room as Amy said ‘Yes!’

Amy grew up in Scarborough, Maine, and dreamed of getting married along the Maine coast. They decided to hold their wedding ceremony at the Hartley Mason Reserve and the reception at the York Harbor Inn.

“The entire wedding was a representation of the love we share as a couple and the relationship we have with each other and with God,” Amy says.

Amy and Chris had an intimate wedding with about 75 guests. The day was beautiful but humid. Luckily the rain held off until the guests were inside the York Harbor Inn enjoying the reception.

In Her Words
We asked the bride more about the big day. Here’s what Amy said…

I wish…it had never ended.

One of my favorite moments was…when Chris surprised everyone on the dance floor with his break dancing!

I’m glad that…we are incredibly blessed to have such supportive family and friends that were able to celebrate this event with us.

I really liked…our photographer. It was so important to have a talented and creative photographer. We can now look back and remember what a special time this went by for us. Our wedding day went by so quickly!

My advice to other couples is…to relax! Talk about everything that could possibly go wrong a week or so before the wedding. That way when little things happen throughout the day, you can laugh about them because they will never be as rotten as your imagination!
