Amy and Dan met at work and quickly became friends over their shared love of food, music, and “It’s Always Sunny and Philadelphia.”
Amy left that job a year later, but kept in touch with Dan. “The stars finally aligned and we were both single at the same time,” Amy says. After their first date they were together every weekend.
Dan planned the proposal around a surprise weekend getaway, including a day of spa treatments that pampered them both. After a relaxing day, the couple were getting ready to head out for dinner. While Amy was finishing getting ready Dan lit a fire in the fireplace and had their favorite song playing. He got down on one knee and asked Amy to be his wife.
The couple, who live in Massachusetts, decided to hold a small wedding in Maine. “We felt that it was right for us to have an intimate celebration with our immediate families, and looked for a house to rent where we could all get away and make it a relaxing vacation and wedding celebration weekend,” Amy says. They decided upon the Inn at Pinnacle Mountain. “The pictures of the porch overlooking the mountains in Maine during the sunset sold us, and we booked it right away!”
The wedding day started with Amy and her bridal party getting their hair and makeup done while Dan and his guys played cornhole on the couple’s custom-made boards and enjoying some drinks. Dan and Amy had a “first look” with their photographers before the ceremony. The evening was filled with a delicious lobster dinner followed by dancing.
In Her Words
We asked the bride more about the big day. Here’s what Amy said…
I wish…we could do it again!
I didn’t realize…how many details go into planning a small wedding.
One of my favorite moments was…enjoying a delicious lobster dinner with our families during sunset.
I’m glad that…we did everything exactly as we wanted.
My advice to other couples is
…to do whatever feels right for the two of you. In the end, it’s your celebration so be sure to do whatever will make the two of you most happy.
