Gabrielle and Jesse knew each other in high school, but they didn't connect until five years after graduation. They ran into each other at a friend's bonfire, and stayed up all night talking about their lives since high school.
Gabrielle was hesitant to start dating Jesse because of her two year old daughter, Addison. "I wanted to be sure I was doing what was best for her," Gabrielle says. "The first day I introduced the two of them was when I knew that this was the man I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. He treated her as his own from the very beginning, and it wasn't long before he became her daddy."
Jesse proposed to Gabrielle over a dinner he prepared for her one night. He prepared her favorites, steak and tortellini, and poured her a glass of her favorite wine. He was visibly nervous over dinner, so Gabrielle asked him what was wrong. "He looked at me with so much excitement and said, 'Just don't ask any questions until I'm done.' He then got down on one knee, pulled out a tiny velvet box, and asked me to marry him," Gabrielle says.
Since Jesse and Gabrielle grew up in the Belfast, Maine area, they decided to have their engagement photos taken close to home. "We both have wonderful memories of growing up so close to the ocean," Gabrielle says. "It seemed fitting to celebrate our engagement next to such beautiful scenery!"
