Ryan and Victoria’s first date was the senior prom. “We were two of the few amongst our friends without a date,” Victoria says. “It was the first time we really hung out one-on-one and got to know each other.”
The Medfield, Massachusetts teens went their separate ways for college—he in Boston, she in Brooklyn, NY. “We would occasionally see each other back home during school breaks or holidays, and I think there was always a pull between the two of us that neither of us wanted to admin,” Victoria says.
Years after the couple had graduated from college, they reconnected again and started a long distance relationship. Eventually Victoria moved back to Boston and their relationship moved to the next level.
“We have never wanted to be apart,” Victoria says. “Even through years of dating long distance, we always had a high level of trust and security between us. We genuinely are best friends.”
Ryan decided to pop the question on New Year’s Day in 2016. Knowing Victoria is not one for grand, public gestures, he planned a simple, sweet proposal. He had their dogs involved, tying the engagement ring to their dog Mattie’s collar.
The couple decided to have their engagement photo shoot with Greta Tucker Photography in Bristol, Maine. This area is special to Victoria. Her family stays at a nearby house each year for vacation. “It’s always a retreat to enjoy what we all love about Maine and family, so the area has an emotional connection for us. This area was the one and only choice for our engagement photos!”
