Erica and Greg were friends in high school but didn’t start dating until they both graduated college. When Greg got into medical school in Pennsylvania, Erica followed. Greg and Erica knew early on that they were meant to be together.
“I have a very vivid image of her from our high school graduation,” Greg says. By coincidence they were paired up to walk together. “She had always been one of my friends, but when I saw her in the gymnasium before the ceremony in her cap and gown, and then later, holding my arm as we walked up to get out diplomas, I remember being blown away by how right it felt with her by my side.” Greg had no idea at that moment that he’d one day marry her…but from then on he couldn’t get her out of his head.
“We had just started dating when Greg went on a trip to India with his family for two weeks,” she says. Right before he left she was at his house, sitting on his lap in his parent’s office while he was on the phone with one of his friends. “He was doodling on a scrap piece of paper getting ready to take down a phone number when he mistakenly wrote I Love You. We both looked at each other, and he nervously smiled and quickly scribbled over it. When we went outside to say goodbye, he said it out loud and so did I. I drove away with a stomach full of butterflies and knew I was going to marry him someday.”
