“I knew early on that Mark was the one for me, and he has only continued to prove this to be true over the course of our eight year relationship,” Megan says.
Mark decided to propose during a trip to Quebec City during the 2016 Winter Carnival. Megan and Mark, who rarely go away on vacation, traveled to Quebec with two close friends to explore and enjoy the festivities. On the last night of their stay, as they were getting ready for bed, Mark told Megan he had gotten her a present.
“I turned around to see him on one knee, holding a box with the most beautiful ring inside,” she says. “I couldn’t believe it! Having been together for so many years, I thought for sure I would be able to tell when he was going to propose.”
The couple had their engagement photos taken in their hometown of Greenville, Maine, where they’ll be married this summer. “One of the spots was our farm, which is located just down the street from our house,” Megan says. “It’s home to our two horses, a barn cat, bunnies, and a pet pig. It’s our happy place.”
