After a few weeks of talking online and texting, Randy Rackley drove from Bangor to Auburn to meet Alicia Sastamoine for the first time in person. “We both had no expectation and really just wanted to be friends, but things didn’t turn out that way,” Alicia says. “We couldn’t get enough of each other.”
After two years of dating, the couple decided to get matching tattoos. Randy had planned to propose during the session and Alicia was planning to propose after the session. They both purchased rings at Day’s Jewelers for their surprise proposals.
Right after their tattoos were done, Randy got down on one knee and asked Alicia to marry her. “I said, ‘Yes!’ followed by ‘You have got to be kidding me!’ I walked over to my purse and pulled out the engagement ring I had purchased and started to laugh,” Alicia says.
The couple are planning a September coastal beach wedding at Hermit’s Island Campground in Phippsburg. “Both Randy and I have gone camping every year here since being together,” Alicia says. “It’s our getaway each summer to recharge and escape from everyday chaos for a few days.”
They wanted to have an engagement photo session that was reminiscent of their wedding theme. Photographer Andree Kehn
suggested Wolfe’s Neck State Park in Freeport, which ended up being a perfect spot. “It was so much fun and super relaxing,” Alicia says. “We couldn’t stop laughing!”
