Alex and CT attended the same high school in Wellesley, MA and college at Roger Williams University. They didn’t realize there was more to their friendship until after their college graduation. “We’re about to celebrate our nine-year anniversary!” Alex says.
They decided to have their engagement photos done in a very special place–Biddeford Pool. “I have been going to Biddeford Pool every summer for my whole life,” Alex says. “It’s a very special place for me and my family, and CT started going there the year we started dating.”
CT decided to propose on Alex’s 30th birthday on a trip to Maine. Alex’s best friend from college was in Maine, too, and texted Alex an address in Biddeford Pool to meet up. She said it was her cousins house, but when the couple arrived Alex wasn’t so sure.
“As we parked outside of the address, CT started to walk away from the house and told me we had to go around back,” Alex says. “We headed down the road toward the ocean and there was a string trio playing on the lawn of a house overlooking the beach.” CT pulled Alex toward him as she was telling him they should leave since there was probably a party going on. He insisted they go toward the music while Alex asked what was going on.
“The string trio was playing “Riptide” by Vance John—our song!” Alex says. CT was on one knee, sweeping Alex off of her feet with his proposal. “As if that wasn’t enough, he told me we were going to meet her friend from college in Kennebunkport, and when we got there he had a bunch of our best friends waiting to celebrate with us. It was the best!”
The couple decided that an engagement shoot with Russell Caron Wedding Photography on the beach in Biddeford Pool was a great idea. “Since we’re not getting married in Biddeford Pool, we thought it would be fun to go back for our engagement photos,” Alex said. “And it was!”
