Weddings are a lot like puzzles. So many small intricate pieces to fit together until the big picture can come together. I give much praise to those who can plan such a detailed event like a wedding, especially when there is a short deadline. Amber from Sweetest Thing Weddings is a professional on a different level when it comes to planning the Real Maine Wedding of the Year. Her energy is contagious and her envision of what Trevor and my wedding is going to look like is nothing like I could of ever imagined. We are so lucky to be working with her and can't wait to see what else she has up her sleeves.

This past weekend my lovely bridesmaids and myself found two big pieces of the puzzle, our dresses! Of course we couldn't of done it without the help of Melanie Brooks and Christine Parker of Real Maine Weddings. Their expertise in the business helped the ladies and myself narrow down three gorgeous dresses that will fit perfect for our fall "moss theme" wedding. Also, our trip wouldn't have been complete without the amazing photographer Andree Kehn in attendance. She captured all the special candids and took the most beautiful pictures of all the dresses. Trevor and I are very lucky and can't thank her enough for being with us every step in this amazing journey. We can't wait to relive these special days in the future when we look back at all the moments she captures.

So a little bit about our trip to Maine for the weekend—first off it was AMAZING and second can we do it again? On Saturday morning we packed up two cars with all the bridesmaids, our moms, and Trevor's little sister. The nine of us ventured five hours north to Bangor, Maine where we quickly dropped off our luggage (way too much for one night) and headed over to The Henry's Bridal Boutique and Formal Wear. This store was fantastic! I met owners Molly and David and instantly felt right at home. They were so welcoming and very excited to help the bridesmaids find a dress that fit all their styles and shapes. Molly took the girls to pick out some of their favorites and I think within 10 minutes the fashion show began. The dresses at Henry’s Bridal were stunning! Molly had some great suggestions and all the girls and myself are very pleased with the top three chosen. I think we even made a record time in bridesmaid dress shopping, all thanks to the expertise and help of Molly. Everyone had a great time visiting this store and send many hugs and thanks to Molly and David for having us.

The next morning it was time to head a little farther north to Presque Isle in search of the perfect wedding dress. I'm not going to lie, I was a little bit nervous, but I tried to pretend the nerves weren't really there. We all hopped into the limo bus and were off to Pancsofar's Bridal Boutique. There were no moose sightings, but plenty attempts at a picture of moose crossing signs. Courtney, the owner of Pancsofar's, and her crew were prepared and had the bridal sections of the shop reserved for the entourage. As soon as I met Courtney I didn't have a doubt in my mind that she had the dress of my dreams. Her store boasts of some of the most amazing designer wedding dresses that had all of our chins dropping. Courtney allowed my friends to pick some of their favorite dresses for me to try on, while I picked out some of my favorites as well. It didn't take us too long to figure out the style of dress that fit me best.

Every dress I tried on had its own unique quality and everyone was helpful in letting me know what worked and what didn't. Courtney kept reminding me that having a big group can be overwhelming, but to stay true to what I felt most comfortable with and what I want for Trevors' and my big day. She really knows her wedding dress stuff! The dresses she picked out for me where absolutely breathtaking. It's often hard to imagine what a dress looks like on when you see it hanging on a rack, but Courtney nailed it! The top three gowns are all something I could envision wearing at my wedding. Of course I might have a favorite, but whatever the public picks I will be so thrilled to wear it to walk down the aisle and marry the man on my dreams. I can't thank Courtney and everyone at Panscofar's for all their help, kindness, and overall the best experience I could of had when choosing a wedding dress. You guys are awesome!

Overall the weekend was a wonderful success. Christine and Melanie are so amazing for setting this up for us and we will be talking about all the fun we had for a long time to come. Thank you everyone for all your support through this journey. Stay tuned as the rest of the pieces of puzzle fall in to place, as Trevor and I will be making some more important choices in the near future. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
