Phill and I were very excited for our first planning day, as we have been looking forward to starting our wedding journey. We had our wedding team with us, Christine from Real Maine Weddings, Fausto from Blue Elephant Events & Catering, and Shane from Shane’s Wedding Photography. It made us feel at ease knowing we have such talented people working with us to make our wedding dreams comes true. Our first planning day was held in Ogunquit, which made it feel that much more special because in a few short months that is where we will be getting married!

Our first stop was Calluna Fine Flowers. The moment I walked inside Heather’s store I knew we were walking into something special. I felt like I had stepped into a secret garden. There was an amazing smell of fresh flowers throughout the store. We were warmly greeted by Heather, and I could sense her excitement and enthusiasm for being apart of our wedding journey. I immediately knew we were in great hands.

I find so much beauty in flowers and was very much looking forward to seeing what Heather had envisioned for our wedding. I was hoping for something soft, romantic, and natural. When Heather started putting some flowers together I felt like she knew exactly what I had envisioned. She created a beautiful arrangement using some of my favorite flowers—lisianthus, spray roses, ranunculus, hydrangeas, dusty miller, and trailing eucalyptus. I was over the moon seeing what she had created for us. Heather also hand selected some flowers and made Phill a boutonniere. It was the perfect pairing to the beautiful bouquet she had made. Heather truly is a master at her craft. She has such a positive presence & calming disposition that instantly makes you feel very much at ease. I could have stayed at Calluna all day.

Our next stop on our planning day was the Ogunquit Beach Lobster House. We were really excited to see where we were going to be having our rehearsal dinner. When we walked in we were blown away by how beautiful the view was. It was a gorgeous day, which amplified the amazing view from the restaurant as it sits overlooking the water. We also loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. It had a hip and modern coastal feel, which we thought was a lot of fun.

It was great meeting Jonah the manager of the Ogunquit Beach Lobster House. She was very welcoming which made us feel right at home. Jonah brought out some of the restaurants specialties like their lobster sliders and clam chowder. I am a lover of seafood and anything clam chowder! Both the lobster sliders and clam chowder were absolutely delicious. Phill and I can’t wait to share our rehearsal dinner with our family and friends. It will be such a special night before an amazing day to follow.

The next stop of the day was Jonathan’s where the reception will be held. We met Larry and Chef Tristan. We are so excited for the food that Chef Tristan and his team will be creating for us. From talking with Tristan we could sense his passion for not just cooking but creating special moments through food. We love that Jonathan’s uses a farm to table philosophy, as we feel very passionate about that as well. As a small business owner of a cafĂ© in Wells, Brewed Awakenings, I whole heartedly believe in the importance of using fresh and locally sourced food. When you use a garden as a canvas you can create something truly amazing.

While we were at Jonathan’s we also discussed the setup of the reception. We are so lucky to have Fausto from Blue Elephant Catering guiding us through our wedding journey. He has such an amazing eye for design and has a way of visualizing a space and creating something out of this world. We can’t wait to see what he has planned for our special day, as I know it will be simply amazing.

Our last stop of the day was Salon Loka. There we met Kristin and her team. Kristin was a pleasure to meet as she has such a warm disposition that instantly makes you feel welcome. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful team of women behind me to help me look beautiful on my wedding day. It puts me at ease knowing that I am in great hands with these very talented ladies. I am so thankful to have Kristin and her team as apart of my wedding journey.

Phill and I had an amazing time on our first planning day. We were amazed by the amount of talent, creativity, and passion from all of these vendors. We are so thankful to them. It leaves us feeling extremely grateful to be given this opportunity, as I know they will create a wedding that we will certainly never forget!
