After these past few days in Maine John and I continue to pinch each other because everything still feels like a dream. Our first planning day was a blast!
We drove up to Portland on Saturday, April 27, and started our planning at a dinner with Christine from Real Maine Weddings and Amber from Sweetest Thing Weddings. Words cannot express how we feel about Christine and Amber. They are so kind, thoughtful, and generous, and have made us feel so special by taking into consideration every aspect of our wedding, leaving no question unanswered. Every moment and aspect of our planning days were seamlessly organized and executed by these two amazing women who are truly experts at what they do. We could barely sleep Saturday night in anticipation of what lay ahead the next morning.
While John and the guys went off to a fun brunch on the water in Portland, I headed off to Andrea's Bridal with the girls, where I met the amazing and talented Julia Irace. Julia is the owner and buyer of both Andrea's Bridal and His & Hers by Andrea's Bridal. I don't know how she did it, but Julia knew my taste and what my dream dresses were before I even knew myself. She was patient with the decision making process and never rushed me or made me feel pressured. She was kind and made me feel beautiful. It was such a pleasure to work with her.

Before I knew it I was standing in the mirror in three of the most beautiful dresses I had ever seen. It was so surreal to imagine myself wearing one of these gorgeous gowns on the most important day of my life. I cannot say enough about Julia's expertise and I felt so honored and privileged to have the chance to work with her. John, my sisters, and my niece (the flower girl) could not have been in better hands with Julia and her staff. They were so patient and accommodating and helping the ladies find gorgeous gowns.
Over at His & Hers, Julia helped John and the guys get into the most handsome tuxedos and suits. She was already prepared with some gorgeous three-piece suits. John said afterwards that he felt well taken care of knowing he would look sharp on our big day.

The last stop of the day was Blush Bridal & Formal to find dresses for our lovely mothers. It was so wonderful to see both our mom's looking so beautiful in wedding day garb. Russ and Liz from Russell Caron Wedding Photography were with us the whole day capturing all of the emotions and whirlwind of activities.

After our visit to Blush they whisked us off to take a few photos for our save the dates in the evening sunset! Russ and Liz are kind and talented, their photographs are so beautiful and we are so fortunate to be working with the best of the best! We finished off the day with yet another fun dinner with Christine, Amber, and some of the family. We left dinner feeling so overwhelmingly grateful and happy. Words cannot express how thankful we are to Christine, Amber, and all the vendors for their part in ensuring our wedding day is spectacular.
