Thank you so much for picking up our January 2017 issue. At
240 pages, it is the largest publication we’ve ever published. We
couldn’t do it without all of the Maine wedding photographers
who so graciously allow us to publish their work. We’ve said it
before and we’ll say it again—Some of the absolute best and
brightest creative professionals live right here in Maine!
If you’re a fan of
Real Maine Weddings
you’ll notice a few
new things in this issue. We are continuing our Ask The Expert
column, which highlights a Maine event planner and designer.
We’ve added on to that notion of expertise by asking a Maine
wedding photographer to share their thoughts an opinions on the
importance of professional wedding photography. And since so
many of the couples we meet at the dozens of wedding shows we
attend have been asking for advice, we decided to include a
column on professional entertainment—most notably reception
bands and DJs. We hope you like these informational additions
to our publication!
While we expand and grow, our core mission to promote
Maine weddings still rings true. We use our destination marketing
expertise to reach couples from Maine to Florida—and
beyond—and show them the kind of wedding they can have here
in Maine. We share wedding trends, inspiration, and a list of
things to consider when planning a Maine wedding. We show off
the work of Maine floral designers and bakers. We offer recipes
for signature cocktails and information on how to obtain your
Maine marriage license. We want to bring couples to Maine, and
we want them to hire Maine wedding professionals.
We’d like to thank all of the wonderful advertisers who, year
after year, support us in our endeavor to promote Maine
weddings. We couldn’t create this publication with out them!
Sincerely,
Melanie Brooks & Christine Parker
